With the beginning of fall, another flying season begins. I am now waiting for the first "cold" front to come thru.

I went ahead and posted a flyer for the Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon on the bulletin board at the local R/C field. Now to see if this stirs up any interest.

Despite the terrible forecast, the weather was warm, breezy, and DRY. I put up 1 flight on the Upright engined Nobler/custom Fox 35. Way out of trim. I put up one flight on the slow combat model/Fox 35S, a little flakey, no big surprise. I also put up 1 flight on the VooDoo/K&B greenhead 35, a little sensitive, good engine run. My partner put up several flights on the BiSlob, had to play musical props, but not too bad.

I am getting ready for the Marathon. Have S-1 Ringmaster, Jr Ringmaster with throttle and 1/2A I built last year.

Warm, HUMID, light wind, one light shower. All I managed to put up is one flight on the NoblARF/Custom Fox 35S. I had added some nose weight to it. It helped some. I think I will add a much heavier engine to it and see what happens. UPDATE: I swapped the Fox for an EVO 36. More weight, more power. This should prove interesting.

Well, I made it to Topeka for the marathon weekend. Only three of us on Saturday and it was cold. Sunday was slightly better with a few more people. My Ringmaster got a work out as Melvin crashed his on Saturday and only one other one showed up on Sunday. We still managed 83 flights. Temps were much better on Sunday.

A little breezy, a good 5* cooler than it has been, no rain, nearly clear skies. I messed up loading the truck and only took 2 planes with me. It proved to be enough. I put up 2 flights on the recycled Nobler/EVO 36. On the third attempt, My partner saw a crack in the model I missed. End of Nobler for the day. Put up 2 flights on the Barnstormer/McFox 35. The work I had done on it paid off as it kept running today. I used the Brodak Rock Crusher handle to reduce the line spacing to desensitize the controls. Big improvement. My partner put up 4 BiSlob/FP35 flights today with no major damage. All in all, a good day.

It seems that my flying partner has become entangled in the political process. He seems to think he has more important things to do for the next couple of Sundays than fly, SO, he wanted to shift our flying day to Saturday for a while. Guess what? That doesn't work for me. We'll have to see how this works out. In the mean time, no flying for 2 weeks.

This Sunday they are having their Jamacian Jerk Festival at Markham Park. This closes down the half of the park that has the airfield in it.

Not much going on right now. It figures, the weather finally clears up, and the field is closed this Sunday.
