Hey Everyone! New to this site, but I have one of those Nobler freakin' ARFs, and the elevator clevis pin CAME OUT OF THE CLEVIS, and caused my plane to crash! Totally not my fault! Guess who's getting a letter? I'm Gus the I.A. on another site, but got directed here, somehow, and saw the Nobler thing. Oh, it's just maddening that such cheap hardware can be included in the box. That is why most people that use the ARF's replace the supplied control system entirely. I kept the bellcrank and leadouts, but replaced everything else.

I finally decided to begin repairs. I straightened the gear, then slung the clunk back where it belongs. I had to remove the engine to clean the mud off of it then straightened the needle. I broke one of the only 2 Bolly Clubman props I had.
UPDATE: I pressure checked the tank. No problems.

Still haven't found the time to yank the wing on my Noblarf, too much mowing and other ketch-ups. How'd you "sling the clunk without tearing sump'm up?

I remounted the engine, then mounted a MA 11-7 3 blade prop. I'll leave the spinner off so I can play musical props at the field.

Not much chance of that.

11-7 3 blade prop is too much load for the engine. I will try something smaller next time.

I decided to change over the venturi I was using to the venturi I bought from Lee machine shop. Using the new venturi, It started much easier. Next, to test fly it.

The Lee venturi didn't work very well. Next will be the stock medium size venturi with the Fox SS NVA.

NoblARF #2 keeps fighting me. Lets see who wins. Current setup is stock medium venturi, Fox large SS NVA, XOAR 12-4.

The XOAR 12-4 prop is too much load for the EVO 36. Next will be an XOAR 11-4.

After putting the NoblARF #2/EVO 36 in the dirt head first for the third time, I thought I'd better pull it off for a good cleanup. I reamed the mounts to fit the OS 35S and mounted one of the ABC conversions. I also bolted up a tornado 10-4 3 blade prop. I also need to find the XOAR 11-4.
UPDATE: I went ahead and mounted the XOAR 11-4.

I put up 5 flights with the Noblarf #2/OS 35S ABC/XOAR 11-4. Looks like that's close to it. It now gets hung up and I need to get back to work on the Fronkensteen 4.

During the last flying session, the prop came loose. I changed the plastic spinner for a Kavan aluminum spinner and will see if that helps. I also tightened the engine mounting bolts which had worked loose. It is about time to fit the cowling to both NoblARF's. I will have to tighten up the bolts on the other NoblARF and Fronkensteen 4.

The tip weight came off during the last session and had to be replaced. I hope this one holds.

Tip weight held, controls are off. When flaps are neutral, the leadouts are different lengths. When flaps are neutral, elevators are slightly down. It might be time to turn this thing into a profile.

Sounds like something internal if this is changes from last flight report.

When I assembled the NoblARF, I used the original bellcrank and leadouts. Looks like that was a bad idea.

The more I think about this, the more I think this is going to end up as another profile.
