I flew this thing today after having repaired the hinges. Doesn't like low power settings. Goes slack on insides above 45*. Flaps need to be adjusted.

Flew it again today. Same problem. More power with the 11-4.5 prop.

Flew it again today. I might have gone a little too far with the flap tweak. It was too windy to tell.

One more flight tells me that this thing is about as good as it's going to get. Now to fit the cowling and see if that changed anything, then hang it up for a while while I try to get some other planes flying.

Well, I didn't hang it up. I clipped the ground with it today and broke the motor mounts like I did on the #3. I need to figure out a way to replace them in both models.

Cut the front firewall off the fuse. Make a new fire wall of 1/4 in ply. Try an RC engine mount in place of the engine bearers.

I'm formulating my own plan for the repair. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. When I begin, I will detail it.

I am planning to cut along the top and bottom edge of the existing engine bearers to the back edge of the bearer. Then I will use a small drill bit to separate the rear edge of the motor mount from the doubler. I will need to strip the covering from the front end of the airplane. I will then see how much oil penetration I have.

As soon as I finish with #3, I will start on #2.

#3 is almost done. Next I have to start carving on #2's motor mounts.

I started sawing on NoblARF #2 today. This one isn't going to be as easy as #3. I had reinforced the front of #2 a great deal more than #3. It came apart but took some of the front end with it. It will take more work going back together. I bought a 36" piece of motor mount stock from a woodworking site that looks excellent for my purposes.

Motor mounts have been cut, doublers have been rough cut, one doubler and mount has been fitted. Now to start gluing.

I FINALLY got around to gluing the first doubler and mount in place. Now to fit the parts for the other side. This one is a little more difficult because some wood came out with the mount, but I'll get it one way or another. I also have to decide which engine to use. It won't be a Fox 35. I might use my EVO 36. UPDATE: Both sides are done and the next thing is grinding the excess epoxy off the sides and mounts then fit the engine to the mounts.

Engine and tank have been fitted. Tank is installed, silicon seal drying. Engine is the Evolution 36. It should be plenty of power.

Lower tank cover has been installed along with the landing gear. I hope I never break one of the gear.

It's going to be interesting to see where the C.G. comes out with the EVO 36.
