Fitting this cowling is harder than I remember it. It might be easier to build a balsa cowling.

Fitting of cowling is done. I hope it stays put.

Flew this thing today. Cowling stood put. I don't like the way the engine is running, but I don't know if it is because of the muffler, prop, or overheating.

I changed the plug, and next time out, I will play with fuels.

The plug change took care of the engine run problem. The plane has a problem of losing tension on inside maneuvers but on outside maneuvers it's fine. It crashed damaging the cowling and NVA. The rest of the plane is fine. UPDATE: I went to change the NVA and I found more damage. The muffler was driven into the fuselage side and took a chunk out of it. I pulled the engine and found no more damage. I hope the tank wasn't damaged in the wreck. I cleaned up the damage and sealed the area with thick CA. I completed the NVA change and the engine should be ready to go. The second pic shows how far the cowling was driven back in the crash.

The added tip weight seems to cure the tension problem. The engine quit half way thru the last flight today. The problem hopefully is in either the muffler or NVA. Otherwise I have another engine change coming up. UPDATE: I have a different muffler and a Enya NVA installed. The next flight will tell the story.

Been breaking in the EVO 36 on my Nobler ARF, no cowl as I didn't want to cut it up. Had to add some tail weight to compensate for the engine change.

The EVO 36 has proven to be a very solid engine after my last modification. It will really haul that Nobler. Be prepared to prop it down.

PLEASE keep up the information...I am building my first Nobler ARF with an OS .46 LA-S and your information is priceless to me...

There are 3 different threads on ARF Nobler "construction" plus one on the tank itself. The main item is the rear pushrod. That HAS to be changed. #2 has the CLC carbon fiber tube, and #3 has the Dave Brown fiberglass rod. I don't recommend the 46. It's too much for this plane. Mine does fine on the OS 35S. Study the motor mount mods on the #2 thread.

The last flights went well except the canopy came off. I have to find a better glue.

I have an added 1/2 oz. in addition to the existing weight. That seems to cure the bad habits.

The canopy has been glued with Pacer canopy glue. It looks like common white glue, but time will tell. I changed the muffler and NVA. The engine seems to run better. I tried an XOAR 11-4 prop. I like the way it runs and feels.

I have an added 1/2 oz. in addition to the existing weight. That seems to cure the bad habits. My kit said there was no factory installed wing tip weight installed. I have 1 oz on there now. It said to start out with 1 oz. What do you think? I get a lot of outboard wing wiggle in maneuvers and can not do the clover. Half way through the clover the lines get way to loose and the plane flies by itself till the lines get tight again. I almost like fling my Flite Streak better than this. Any suggestions? I am running an OS .46la with an 11x4 prop. Thanks

The first 2 I assembled had factory installed tip weights. I had to add weight to both. #2 has 1/2 oz. I haven't checked on #3 yet, but it certainly feels as though it has tip weight. It sounds like yours needs tip weight. Get self adhesive weights and place 1/2 oz near the outboard tip and try it again. It cured mine.

I have great line tension just doing circles but on certain maneuvers i loose line tension. In the clover, once i get to the third loop it is impossible cause I loose line tension and it just flies itself till the lines get taunt again...Some other maneuvers and just playing around it will also loose tension at times. I have no idea whats going on. Any thoughts? Thanks

It could be misalignment, wing warp, or too little tip weight. Check the wing alignment and check for wing warps. If ok, then add another 1/2 oz tip weight and try again.

The fuel tank failed today. The clunk is rattling around the inside of the tank. I'll have to see exactly what happened. I'm going to make a couple more as spares.
