You should be back from flying by now. ha ha ha Getting little bits of ice crystals all day. Cant beleve that Thursday was out on crossing duty in shirt sleeves. Grandsons boy scout camp out was called off early Saturday because of weather reports and some scout not being prepared for bad weather. Hope you got a good day of flying.

Isn't scouting all about dealing with nature both good and bad?

No rain, variable winds. I put up 4 flights on the NoblARF #3/Brodak 40. Last flight running 20% nitro. That thing really travels. Controls are too far off. I need to operate. I will wait till I have #2 back in the air. It shouldn't take long. I still want to try 0% nitro fuel. My flying partner's BiSlob is now too heavy to fly with the FP 35. It now has an LA 46.

Isn't scouting all about dealing with nature both good and bad? And being Prepared. I remember the motto.

Todays scouts are not what they used to be. More drizzling rain here in KC.

Just got back from my Saturday flying session. I put up 2 flights on the NoblARF#2/EVO 36. Second flight resulted in a crash. Tank clunk is in the front of the tank again. Looks like no other damage. Ground was wet and soft. My partners BiSlob is now so heavy that not even an LA 46 will haul it. Last ditch effort will be an OS SF 46. I received a donation from another flyer today. Details in other thread.

No rain, fair amount of wind. I put up 1 flight on the Tutor 2B/LA 46. The 46 pulled it well. I tried the "new" Buster like plane with the K&B 29S from the new donation. It has a wing warp causing the outboard wing to fly high when upright. This is a handfull in the wind. after the warp is corrected, I need to take the CG back a little. It did a double forward flip on landing. The large short coupled biplane had a problem engine and I ended losing some skin trying to adjust the engine. I am going to try a K&B Greenhead 45 on it with the NVA reversed. The small red biplane is going to get a Fox .19 to start with. If necessary, it will get a Fox 35. I put up 2 flights on the Barnstormer/McFox 35. I lost it on the second flight and destroyed it. Another one for the bonfire.

The forecast for my next attempt to go flying. This Sunday could prove interesting. I will attempt to fly the large donated biplane. I may also try to fly the small red biplane, if it runs. I am almost finished with the zero, but that one is still in question. My flying partner should have the plane resembling the Galaxy ready, so we will see. Attachments:

I have the Zero ready for the test flight. It has a Super Tigre G21 40 swinging a MA 11-6 prop, It has 3" wheels and a Harry Higley heavy Hub.

It's getting warm and humid. No rain, windy. Today was for testing the new batch of what I will call "experimental" planes. The small red biplane needed more tip weight. Every time it went upwind, it waved at me. No stunts possible because of the tank. The setup I created for the larger Biplane worked, HOWEVER, even with a 45 and reversed NVA plus nose weight, it was hypersensitive. I think it is far too dangerous to start and adjust, so it will be broken up and the wings will be used to create some smaller planes. The Zero got my Super Tigre G21 40. It was one of my most reliable engines, but it started acting up a little. I think a bearing is going bad, In spite of that, it pulled the Zero like a truck. The problem with the zero is it turns better inside than outside. It has an asymetrical airfoil and too small an elevator. I planted it inverted and removed the canopy and rudder. It still has possibilities. The blue combat plane got a McCoy 35 that hadn't been run in a while. It didn't run well. I will try a better engine for the combat plane and see what happens. Somewhere I have a Super Tigre 35C plain bearing engine. Either that or a Fox 36 sport engine. My partner flew the Galaxy clone. I got a bad setting on the 36X and it crashed with a classic broken fuselage behind the wing.
UPDATE: The blue combat plane has received the Fox 36 sport. The Galaxy clone will get a Torpedo 35.

Warm, humid, light and variable wind, NO RAIN. I put up 1 flight on the Buster/K&B 29S clone. only a slight warp. I need to bring the CG back and reduce the elevator travel. I put up 1 flight on the Tutor 2B/OS LA 46. A little too much pull.

At least you got to go flying. Beautiful stunt weather here, but was busy cutting up a tree.
