It may have been a great landing but resist the temptation to take a bow....

Hey, I'll take a three pointer anytime. And I won't quibble about WHICH three points they are either.

Didja notice that this guy was at the TAKEOFF end of the runway? I bet he stood on the brakes and gave it power to get the tail up while he was standing still, always an impressive maneuver for the bystanders, and overdid it.
I used to do stupid things like play the brakes against the throttle and taxi around the airport with the tailwheel off the ground just because I thought I was a hot rock. I never pranged the airplane doing it but a guy who saw me doing it and thought it was extremely cool then went out and tried it, shortening the prop on his L-5 by about three feet in the process. I was probably lucky to have survived that stage of my flying career.

I'd be bailing out, too, if I had a plane with a paint job like that one!

Well Galvin, --- I thought that you were such sensible guy. I never bent a prop either, but it was more good luck in my case -- I could have bent the prop & everything aft of it a couple of times.
