Huhh,, Campbell's soup was somewhere between 25 - 33 cents in 1986..
Gasoline was 1.12..
Chickens 1.90 Bacon 2.00
It seems they have raised prices here and there until it has QUADRUPLED ACROSS THE BOARD..
Gas was basically just the final nail in the coffin./.
According to my math..
Cost of living has quadrupled since 1986 and wage has only doubled meaning we are making half what we made during the '80's ,, which kinda sucked..
This is tragic for working Americans..
11 an hour carpenter wage in 1986 bought 40 cans of tomato soup..
20 an hour carpenter wage today buys 15 cans of soup dollars to doughnuts Housing values are through the roof in south Florida.. and noone wants to pay the labor.. They follow the corporate paradigm of maximize profits where profit margin has zilch to do with wage levels.
more runaway wealth and runaway power imo.. Capital gains are not taxed for social security.. so the rich making profits off the immigrants do not pay for the welfare.. the workers do.. What a great system .. sa
