Merry Christmas to all from your friend here in the Redneck Riviera. I hope this holiday finds you all happy and healthy and able to spend time with your families. Best wishes also for a great 2016! Couple days ago I was wearing three layers with a hoodie and I was freezing out in the shop. Today it was one of those hot days where it's on the verge of rain all day long. None you can see really, but the streets and lawns stay damp all day and the humidity is horrible. Seemed hot in the house even though I had the ceiling fans on and when I looked at the thermostat it was over 80 in the house. Been running the AC all night and it's finally cooling off to a comfy 72. Every year I tease the Admiral about buying her a Mig welder or a salt water rod and reel for Christmas. This year I cut up a few boxes and wrapped a couple presents together to make what looked like a box for a trolling motor. I picked up a couple candy cane tubes full of Mike n' Ikes and stuck them at angles near the bottom so they looked like the blades of a propeller. I also put another present in a box about the size of a car battery with a couple large dowel pieces glued on the top. Supposed to look like a marine battery for the trolling motor. I took a bunch of smaller leftover wrapping paper pieces and did a real "Bubba" job with the wrapping. Clashing colors, stripes, patterns, etc. We did our Christmas gift opening on the 23rd because my oldest daughter was going out of town for the 25th. The Admiral didn't even spot this big, obnoxiously wrapped pair of boxes until half the gifts were opened. What is THAT?! Why, that's yours according to the tag on them... why don't you open them? Hehehe... she took one look at the boxes and I thought she was going to take the skillet to me. Is that a TROLLING MOTOR? !! Was a hoot after all these years to finally give her the "trolling motor." Maybe next year she might want an AR or maybe a transmission jack - I probably ought to give a choice.

Heheh, that's a good one. We opened ours last night and must have been the year to pick on my daughter here, her boyfriend got the idea she needed to treasure hunt for her presents, and then my mother wrapped one of her gifts Russian doll style. But I'll have to remember that for next year.
