DAWG - Dumb Ass With Gun. Couple of them notable this week. The one in the Planned Parenthood in Colorado, and I guess they are still trying to figure out what gear slipped in his mental watch to account for his actions. The other one was a shooting in a Waffle House in Biloxi, MS. Around 1am some guy fires up a cigarette, the waitress tells him to put it out, he draws his pistol and shoots her in the head. Is there something in the national water supply? WTH is wrong with these people? Why isn't Alex Jones on this instead of worrying about Russian AS-400s in Syria? Obama wasted no time jumping on the gotta-get-the-guns bandwagon. Rumor is he's going to use an assault pen to fix this problem once and for all, but I'm not sure what global warming regulation he's going to use to get it done. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!

Don't you know if they can just ban me from owing a gun, then Unicorns will fly free and fart rainbows daily. Of course for the vultures of the left, they have been salivating that finally a shooting goes their way and they can use it against both gun owners and people of faith, because as you know it was a 'devout right wing Christian' whose worship of sanctity of life means he can kill people to save the babies. The irony is not even noted that at the same time they defend a human parts factory with some sort of twisted moral righteousness. The presidents 1st words were not about the tragedy of the event except that us peons should not have military looking weaponry. Which is interesting since they have not revealed just what he used compared to other shooting they immediately reported, even if falsely, that is was an AK47 or AR15. I'm sure that idea is a comfort to the people of France who have what only can be dreamed of by the statists here for gun control and died by the score to true military grade firearms. Anyway, yep we had a good one, it was pretty dang cold and snowy, but Kayla and her boyfriend came and stayed for the day which is kind of rare anymore. Hope you did as well.

I did have a good one. First year in I don't know how long we didn't have it at home. My youngest two weren't home for it this year, so it was just the Admiral and my oldest. We were invited to join a bunch of other folks my daughter knows who were getting together and making a kind of potluck thing at this historic residence downtown. House was built in the mid-1800s, 8 bedrooms, huge kitchen, huge dining room, and a massive living room about 1/2 the size of my whole house.
The home was formerly owned by Admiral (4-star) Doyle, a former CO of the Naval Air Training Center in Pensacola. During WWII, Doyle was the CO of USS Hornet. Many of his personal effects were on display all over the house, and of course that was like Viagra to me, seeing all that stuff. The coffee table in the living room is a big glass top placed atop a wooden crate with stencils identifying it as personal property of ADM DOYLE, along with his service number. Museum quality. His personal flag was in a case on the wall, pictures of him on the Hornet, a July 1945 Plan-of-the-Day from Hornet, lots of interesting memorabilia. One of Doyle's male relatives is a part owner of the home now, thus the Adm.'s stuff.
The Adm's relative also owns a gigantic Newfoundland, well north of 150lbs, and for some reason the dog wandered over to me and decided I was the official affection-giver for the day. LOL cool dog, gentle as a kitten, but when it came time for her to have a ham bone later in the day, it was like watching a T-Rex in action. Great dog, though it took some getting used to patting one that high, being used to Chihuahuas.
After dinner we made up a bunch of plates from the leftovers that were going to be taken the following day down to this area downtown where a bunch of homeless folks seem to congregate. A few of them are vets.
My youngest two had Thanksgiving together, with my son driving up to Maryland from Norfolk while his sister prepared a feast for him. They called us on Skype later that night and I found out the promotion list for the fall 2015 exam came out on the 25th and he was on it! So he'll be frocked to Petty Officer Second Class sometime before Christmas, and he'll make it official somewhere between Jan and June.
All in all, a great day!
My Admiral enjoys leftover turkey sandwiches more, I think, than turkey fresh out of the oven. Since all the leftovers went to the homeless folks, I cooked a small turkey on Saturday. So I'm about turkeyed out for another month at least. I'll be making soup out of the leftover parts today and freezing most of it for my daughter who would eat it twice a day if I could make that much.

Here we go again. 1st thing from the statists before the bleeding stopped is gun control, even though it would not have stopped these 2, maybe would have made it worse if they focused on making better bombs which were already illegal like they would have guns be.
And I bet they will bend themselves like playing twister to say its not remotely connected to terrorism.

Yeah, never let a good crisis go to waste! I've been reading about the usual suspects all chiming in about how we need to stop the guns but not a single peep out of them about stopping fanatical Muslim jihadists. Even Geraldo, that monument to irrational thought, was back again the other day with another gotta-get-the-guns rant.
I love the shocked headlines: "Police found FIVE THOUSAND rounds of rifle ammo..." Geeze, I know people who would consider that a low cutoff level, to where if they got down to 5,000 they'd start making fewer trips to the range. After all the bitter-clinger accusations and workplace violence accusations it comes to light this dude and his wife had body armor, pipe bombs, and a decent supply of ammunition. No, these innocent religion-of-peace newlyweds couldn't possibly be up to anything nefarious - he prayed 5 times a day!
I think it's high time we started pulling visas and shipping more of them back home. And I'd like to see anyone who goes to and returns from a country with known jihadist training centers put on a watch list for a couple years at least. OH, how awful, that would be inconvenient and put a lot of innocent people on watch lists. Yer darn tootin' it would! For the last 13 years 330 million Americans have had to show up an hour early to fly to another American city, subject to search, and can't carry a freakin' bottle of liquid in their carry-on bag... how about all THAT inconvenience? Time to start putting some of the burden back on the people who caused it in the first place.
I'll bet if we put a system in place similar to what Israel does with convicted terrorists things might change. There, they bulldoze the home of any convicted terrorist, giving the family 96 hours notice to GTHO. I wonder how anxious these jihadists would be to meet Allah if committing one of these acts of terror resulted in the three geographically closest mosques getting leveled to the ground? ISIS doesn't seem to have a problem holding innocent people responsible for the Crusades, so maybe it's time we did a little crusading and see how they like it.

Well in fairness, who would think that making trips to Saudi to marry a Saudi foreign national would radicalize anyone, especially after already being investigated and cleared Funny how they have no problem with the NSA spying on Americans and yet seem to know nothing going on with people being active in foreign ties to places we know are militant training grounds. I also thought the same alarm at someone having thousands of rounds of ammo as having IEDs was a little naive as well. One is legal the other completely banned already and they still act like they are the same level of illegality. In their little bubble of non reality, I guess it never occurred to look at recent history of ammo shortages and price spikes and explain why anyone would hoard it. Nope, having that much ammo makes you a terror suspect.
