Well we have had a break in the weather with decent temps and little wind. Last Saturday I spent putting/spraying the primer coat on a plane. Then it was dinner with future son-in-law and his parents courtesy of my daughter. Then after Church Sunday and dinner I loaded up the pit box and went flying. First flight on the Ringmaster Imperial I set the needle too lean. First loop it almost pulled me over. After numerous loops and eights the engine finally quit. Second flight was a lot closer on needle but ran out of fuel before I got half way through the pattern. Going to try a smaller venture on this plane. I know one thing I am out of shape. The bike machine is helping with the legs, average from 10-15 mph for ten minutes. May get out today with the old time plane. Working on two stunt planes and a racing plane.

If your engine will run on no nitro, you might try that, or switch to a diesel. I haven't flown for a while. The next time might be a little rough.

While on family vacation in Texas I managed a couple of hours to go fly with a friend who used to get me out about 3 or4 times a week to fly, depending on the weather. Flew my Old Time plane for three so called patterns. Last one got the needle better and it was the best one. At least it didn't pull me out of the circle or I getting better. That 6+minutes of flying is harder than the bike machine. So now the bike machine is almost on full resistance. According to the machine I am doing 11 mph. Right now a little breezy and cool to get in the mood to fly.

It's good you're getting to fly some. I haven't flown for a while. I'm thinking about thinning out my engine supply. I have at least 3 lifetimes supply. At my age, that's overkill. Let me know if you need anything.

I have too many engines now. Some have never been run.

Out of more than 80 engines, only one is unrun. A Johnson small shaft 35.
