I first read about this as a mailer being sent out by some Dem groups to their voters. Basically, it's a flyer where they list your name and a bunch of your neighbors' names along with columns showing the 2010 and 2012 years with a status for each name, "Voted" or blank. Then there is a 2014 column with all blanks. The wording on various notices are different but the gist of it is, you either go vote or next time this notice goes out it's going to show you with a blank and "Your neighbors will know. It's a public record."
I guess this is an attempt to shame people into voting?
I've voted in every election up to now, so I didn't get one but my wife did. She sat out the last mid-term election. This was sent out by a group called Citizens for a better Florida. Checking on them, they are a Republican supporting group who has collected around $350K from a single source, that being the national realtors association in Chicago. They spent most of it in support of our current Guvnor, Scott. Their offices are the same physical address of a FL realtor's group.
I see in the local press where they've been deluged with complaint calls and they have an answering machine that has a message, "We understand you've received a flyer..." LOL I wish they'd sent it to me, I'd write them back and thank them for convincing me to talk my neighbors into not voting so none of us will be ashamed of each other.
What kind of moron tactic is this flyer thing?
