It is now "offically" fall and the beginning of a new flying season. In Miami, you would never know it's fall because the weather has not yet gotten the message and it still feels like summer. It could be between 2 weeks to a month before we start to feel some relief from the heat. Since it is the "official" start of the new flying season, it's time for a new thread.

Flying tomorrow is cancelled. My flying partner seems to have caught something from one of the kids in one of his classes. It's apparently an occupational hazard of being a teacher these days. We'll see how long it lasts.

Well I was all set for the Ringmaster Marathon, but there is a cider festival at Louisberg KS. Family made plans to go. So weather permitting will be out Sunday to fly the Ringmasters.

Good luck. Weather is supposed to be good in Miami. The forecasters haven't been right yet, so that worries me. The first actual front of the season is supposed to come thru late Saturday night. It is forecast to take the highs all the way down to 84*. It's a start. Forecast: Attachments:

Cool, breezy, no rain. I put up 4 flights on the Galaxy/G21 46. It goes lean on the outsides with the replacement tank. I need to move the tank.

I know you are probably one of those that don't like the looks of a Ringmaster. But, if I was close enough you would have one for the Marathon next year. The wind in Topeka kept some of the club members away, Besides Melvin and myself, Paul Willard showed up and put one flight. Said it was too windy. I think it gusted above 20 mph a few times. But, you have to remember to make low take offs. Melvin had us direct down wind. Myself I like to take off on the up wind side. The late Allen B. pointed out to us the rudder does a lot in keeping the plane pointing out and getting air speed up. Also stepping backwards helps also. Landings you may have to lead a little and get the plane down low, don't let it climb going into the wind. Hopefully by the time the wet weather stops I will have the RSM Original Ringmaster ready for flight.

I have no problem with the looks of the Ringmaster. To me the Ringmaster has always been an ordinary airplane with nothing special to recommend it. It has a classic look, but doesn't have anything special in the way of handling. To me it is "ordinary". I have had several in my earlier years including a "sportster".

Looks like this Sundays flying is cancelled again. My flying partner has trouble on the home front. Hope he can work it out.

The wife volunteered to go flying with me today. After checking the weather, I found it would be too warm for her, so I told her maybe later in the season when it cools off a little more. It pays to take care of the troops.

No flying this Sunday either. My flying partner is still having trouble on the home front. It is still too warm here to have the wife help out. Hopefully soon. I need a backup flying partner. Anyone out there in the Ft. Lauderdale/Sunrise area available to fly Sundays AM?

My flying partner still hasn't worked out his problems, so since the first real cold front of the season is due this weekend, I will attempt to have the wife help me fly Sunday. Wish me luck.

Clear skies, bright sun, windy. I put up one flight on the Fronkensteen 4. Lost it in the sun, wind caught it, crash. This time it has major damage. Broken upper spar, leading edge broken, both under the fuselage. Top of the fuselage cracked aft of the doublers. Put up one flight on the old shoestring. Engine quit on the outside loops. rough landing, no damage.
