Do you mean somebody wasn't happy with the judging last night? Now who woulda thunk it!
It reallyis the pits, though. I didn't watch the Russian Gymnast, but my wife did. She said he was outstanding! You almost find yourself wishing the judging was done by a robot, but then we'd worry about where the motherboard came from. JohnC

So much for the kinship of internationalism. When my niece won the Olympic gymnastics test event in Athens this April, the rule was that the top 3 gymnasts from each country would be eligible. The FIG (Federacion Internacionale de Gynmnastique) quickly passed a rule reducing the number of eligible gymnasts to 2 (because they did not want to see 3 gymnasts from the same country sweep the medals and the other 2 girls on the US all-around team had won world championships before). The judges that screwed up the scores the other night were FIG officials. The FIG is so obsessed with trying to cut good teams down to size that they cannot even run their own events properly.
When I flew RC Combat, there was a growing movement within the ranks of the old men to handicap the better pilots through what came to be known as "score normalization" rather than to create a senior's division where those with diminishing skills could compete. This is one of the main reasons I walked away, because it was becoming a sport of minor technicalities and political nuances effecting the outcome rather than the streamer cutting contest that it started out as.
