I got this in one of those chain e-mails that make their way around, and thought it was a pretty interesting photo. It is a composite photo of the Helix Nebula taken by the Hubble, with various filters tuned to the frequency of gasses like oxygen, helium, and hydrogen that give the gasses their telltale colors. That's pretty. They say its a dying star, and that our sun may look like that in several billion years. I won't worry...unless it blinks.
