Has anyone had any dealings with Airborne DHL "The New Guys"? If so, I sure hope it was better than mine, which is more like a nightmare!
It started on 9/03/04 when I placed a small order with Hobby Lobby. They were prompt in sending their acknowledgement email and several follow-ups that gave me a tracking number for DHL. AHA! I thought, da new guys are going after business... very good.
I actually waited until 9/13/04 before firing up the 'puter and checking the DHL website... and found a "delivery attempted" notice and a toll-free phone number. I called and informed "Bill" that I had been home all day and nothing resembling a delivery truck had even driven by my house. Bill told me that the address was incorrect, read it to me and began stuttering when I told him that the address was indeed correct and had been in use since before 1995 when I moved there. He stuttered even more when I suggested they should consider investing in a map or two.
After several more attempts to justify the driver's inability to find me, Bill took down specific directions to my address and promised to make sure they would be given to the driver. Then, he evidently had a brain phart and went home... without even bothering to print out the directions.
I called after 3PM on 9/14/04 and "John" laughed...Why sure I know where it is... it never left the building 'cause you never called to tell us what to do with... uhm, you say you did? An' ya gave directions ta Bill? Oh, well, that 'splains it- Bill's tha new guy."
To make a long story short, I finally got the package at about 2:00 PM on 9/16/04. I say about, because the driver pulled up in front, quickly and quietly carried my package up to the bench on my front porch, and without bothering to even ring the doorbell, placed my said package on the bench and "Gotthehelloutta Dodge" with out making any attempt to contact me and aplogize.
Needless to say, Hobby Lobby has been contacted and instructed that I will not accept any packages brought by DHL! JohnC
