I am looking for plans for a simple easy to build slow combat plane to teach my boys how to fly combat. I had a solid combat wing .049 that I built as a kid but never had any help flying it. It got lost along the way.
Anyone have a set of plans?
Thanks Paul

don't really know of anything for that size of an engine. That may not be a good size engine/plane to learn on anyway because it would be pretty underpowered. I would suggest looking into the spad type ships with .25 (open B) or .46 (open C) engine. They are cheap and easy to build. The larger plane would also be easier to see for learning. Try Spad to the bone www.spadtothebone.com/

Patch, SPADS aren't slow. He's looking for something draggy -- Lightning should be an expert on being a drag. ;D

I've heard of the "Fighting Ladies" -- you mean that they are fakes?

Good thing you finially posted, I was going to call. All the swings at you, and no response, I was starting to worry about you.
You didn't do anything to deserve it, we're just MAAC members and like to be mean!
"but I know Patch would wreck 'em in a hurry"
I'm gifted, I can wreck anything ;D ;D ;D

Patch, according to Lightning, I possess superior technique -- my wrecks are completed with a superb combination of pure naked aggression & outstanding style. If rootbeard wants his son to learn from a master, I could act as his personal instructor.

Hey Pat, that is most generous of you and all well and good, but what if he wants his planes to last more than one flight? Just askin' ;D ;D ;D

but what if he wants his planes to last more than one flight? They do that? I thought that was why they didn't have landing gear

Hey -- I'm the Low-Slow-Inverted champ at our club It's the low-fast-inverted & low-fast-knife-edge stuff that scrapes paint on my models If ya ain't tryin' ya ain't flyin'. ;D This buzzing about & chasing your tail combat stuff is very undisciplined. Who would give inverted through the parking lot lessons if it wasn't for me?

Yeah, I was about to say. This design: flies nice on a Norvel .061 - practically indestructible, bounce it off the grass all day, and it's quite aerobatic. Fly it on 42 foot lines. Another option is Phil Cartier's Li'l Hacker kit also flies very well and is very tough. home.earthlink.net/~philcartier/webcat/Descriptions/lilhackkit.htmlIskandar
