How many of you that are going to the NATS are planning to take their laptops with them. Is this practical? do you consider it risky? I don't like the idea of leaving it in the hotel room, but putting it in the trunk of a car with the heat buildup can't be good for it. Let me know what you think.

Had Melvin & Brenda Schuette's lap top with us last year at the Worlds and NATS at Muncie. We stayed at Signature for over two weeks with no problems. Have fun at the NATS and keep us posted on the wars. DOC Holliday

Phil, in this part of Texas, the trunks of cars get hotter than I've ever heard of Muncie getting. We keep laptops in the trunks here -- heck, the late model laptops get twice as hot internally from normal use as they could get from sunlight on the car's skin! They get too hot to really try using them *IN* your lap any more!

Phil,
I just got back from Brodak's . I had the laptop, an older one, with me all week. I used it at the field during the day to download pictures from the cameras and at night in the motel to check web mail.
If you need to leave it at the motel they usual have secure storage for your valuables.
Tight lines,
