Dan,
Saw your picture on the other forum. What happened to your Van and the other two 20-FPs? Boy that weather sure looked miserable at the start. Looks like it turned out ok though. Did you get the parts in yet for the other engines?
Back when I flew combat I used to use Combat Cats. I used to buy them in double kits. I even used the wings from them in my slow combat planes. The wings seemed like the FliteStreak wings but not as thick. I was wondering what the ribs measured in your Combat Streak. I have a bunch of the old combat cat ribs cut and was thinking about using them in a Combat Streak or similar fuselage. Did I read somewhere that you put a more traditional landing gear in that plane? If you could direct me to a picture of it I would appreciate it. I am thinking about putting the engine I loaned to steve in it when I get it back.
Tight lines,
Tom

Tom,
Ford van currently has challenges with both rear tires. This contest only the second time in 27 years I have not taken it to a hobby-related activity. Packing an Impact and two 20FP-powered models in that stupid-and-slow Honda Civic was fun.
I flew my Super Combat Streak in Classic, but only briefly. Coming out of wingover I show-bizzed it a bit too much and buzzed down a prop. Supporting Mike got in the way, no big loss.
SCS currently has single-wheel strut. You refer to questions I had as to SCSs which might have been fitted, pre-1969, with two-wheel gear so I can legitimately use same on a new model. Little progress on this front to date, not a big deal in any case.
Pictures of weather at Fall Follies quite deceptive, especially pictures of the fog.
I looked at my SCS template last night, this made from Barry Baxter plans, and got a 1 3/4" thick airfoil. I will actually be using another template, this one under-cut by 1/16" upper and lower surfaces. This will allow for all ribs to be the same, sheeting at center section, 1/8" wide x 1/16" thick capstrips on ribs bringing it up to specification.
Have not shipped your parcel. Down with the flu all last week, to the point where I very nearly did not go to Salem. And judging by how I feel today, maybe it was not the wisest move of the year.
