Howdy Ya'll, I found a drawing on how to make a ballon tank. My question is how do you mount it on a profile solid wing plane? Or was maybe thinking about a 1/2 combat type wing?
Thanks Paul

Paul,
Just make a lightweight box and rubberband it on. I just keep mine open in the front and mount it on the inside of the nose if necessary.

Rootbeard, Any old container that's big enough will do. Leave the "lid" off a plastic clunk tank and stick the balloon in there. Install a plastic ball with a hole cut in it in that combat wing and you can use it for the balloon tank or a pacifier pressure setup. Somebody I read about uses Vienna Sausage tins. For 1/2A, 35mm film canisters are perfect (and free at any film-developing place). Look around, you'll find possibilities just laying around the house! --Ray

Hey Ray, I didn't have ready access to any of my old holders so I got lazy and called paul last night and gave him esentially the same advice you did. I told him he was putting too much thought into it. I like to form a cylinder from plastic screen and thumb tack it to the inside of the nose. The most creative I got was using one of SWMBO's plastic hair curlers. (Do they still make those?) Tight lines, Tom

Hey Thanks for the call Tom, I sometimes think too much. And make things harder then they need to be. It is always a pleasure to talk with you. I learn more in 5 mins on the phone with you then hours spent on the web. ;D I hope to see pictures of your scratch built planes. Take care Paul
