At a recent funfly in our neck of the woods two full sized aircraft caused a few hearts to almost go into seizure. One aircraft did a low approach and overshoot - we're talking less than 50feet AGL here and the other touched down and 'did a roller' in the middle of a model aeroplane meeting. Peole were on the runway at the time. The 'events' were several minutes apart. Registrations were both noted and both pilots bollicked rotten. To my mind the meeting stewards should have Notamed the event and X'ed the runway too. So much for faiweather fliers having adequate preflight briefings. Could have been nasty.

Sounds like it was nasty -- just not fatal.

Nearly lost my cub weekend before last......Funfly at a full scale airport. It was NOTAMed closed... Guy in a cessna did a straight in approach and touched down just to the left of us just as I had turned off the runway heading...didn't notice him until he applied power for the take off... Dont know what he was thinking..the ramp was full of model airplanes, and crowd contol fencing, and there were 4 pilot stations right at the edge of the runway....2 of them in use!!! My somewhat embarassed spotter has enrolled in "Spotting for Dummies."
