And where did all the pieces GO? Or was this one of those test engines for high-speed photography of turkeys being ingested at 600kt?

It seems that the turkeys were in the cockpit.

Note that this program will not allow the use of the word "C. O.C. K" (I have to spell it out or the app. will change it to "thingy". This may be a bit too PC for my tastes.)
Regarding the average Chinese pilot: When you buy a ticket on a Chinese airline it is better not to think of it as a fare for passage but rather that you are buying a chance on a safe trip. Not all people buying chances on things win either. Cultural differences often result in your getting a pilot who would rather die than look bad.
Many insurance companies will not underwrite certain middle eastern and asian airlines unless the PIC is either JAA (British,Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, French, Dutch, German,Italian, etc.) or FAA (American). Use of indigenous flight crew in command positions is not allowed by them as a result of hard statistics.

This is an excellent example of why I won't fly on a carrier that outsources A&P to Chinese contractors. You get what you pay for. Northwest is one of the companies that I won't consider at all. Jaime, you got the list of others that have gone to "low bidder" outsourcing of critical component maintenance?

Ya Tail, that's the one; They did a wholesale dump of the bulk of their domestic maintenance force in favor of the dime-a-day Chinese market. This will result in dead people, many of them, I am convinced. I could care less about the financial impact so much for the safety issues. I have a brother who was with NW for 5-6 years, unceremoniously given the axe while working in Boston, along with thousands of others. He ain't hurtin' though, the lazy bastritch is raking in a nice severance and unemployment checks that rival my own income...While sittin' his fat lazy arse on my parents' front porch, allegedly waiting for NW to call him back in. Fantasyland, in other words...

Well back in '66 the pilot's of NW had some big ones, as most every flight in and out was greeted with small arms fire from those little basterds in black pj's hideing in the tall grass near the runway. On the runway the pilot held the brakes as he revved up those three turbo fan engines to full throttle till I thought they were comming apart, then slid his foot off the toe brakes and let her go. All 117 of us military plus 32 civillians were put back in our seats and on rotation he stuck the nose in the air and hauled ass, and didn't back off on the throttles till were were at 15,000 ft when the bird leveled off and we knew we were safe and headed back to the world.
