The model certainly sounds great at startup, takeoff, and in flight. But the use of the takeoff RPM sound during taxi makes it sound more like a turboprop than a recip. I am going to try to get some good audio of an R-2800 in some of the mid range RPM sounds to send to Thomas Benedini www.benedini.de/ and see if he can incorporate them into the audio chip and tie them to the proportional throttle position on the transmitter. I have an Advnced Scale Models ARF of the 76" P-61 Black Widow that I am converting into the prototype P-61E escort fighter version and if the improvements in the range of the audio are made they would make the impression of reality over the entire RPM range simply awesome. I am trying to decide whether or not to get a couple of these sound units to help me to attain immortality among my flying buddies by building and flying the most realistic model airplane ever.
