Hi there.... Bob here. I have an electric Pseudo scale plane in the make, about half-done over at Ezone. I'd post it here, except I don't see any way to post photos. ( I've used about a Gazillion MB of photo space on it over there, and it's only half-way complete. ) I designed it for the beginner, and also so You don't need actual plans to actually build it. The thread contains lots of tips & hints and even a section on molding your own cowls from 2 litre soda bottles. I'd like to see a few built so, I hope they don't get upset with me here if I post a link. The plane SHOULD run on anything from a GWS IPS geared sysrem to a geared 400 set-up. If everything goes right, You should even be able to actually "dust" the flying field if You have a 5th channel! ;D Anyway... here's a link to part one, and there's a link in there for part 2. Let Me know what You think! Bob www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2266816#post2266816

Cool, Bob!
Being a "fossil-fuel dinosaur" myself, I think I'd slap a .15 in 'er (even a .25 four stroke?)....Neat, detailed, very tempting...
BTW, I found a guy who'll copy the AquaStar plans for me in the next week or so. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the goodies heading your way...

Naw, ketchup doesn't have enough gore in it to be convincing...besides, it would sting in a wound like that, wouldn't it? ;D

Hehehehe... Well,.. I was bored that day, and the wife had made these funky-looking turkey sausages for breakfast.. I just couldn't resist that one.,. ;D I'm hoping to get at least one of the wing panels done this weekend( probably the simple-build no aileron wing panel.. but if I have enough time, I'll start on the wing panel with ailerons & the more "scale-type" wing tip.) After my accident, I haven't worked in 2 years, and the heat and hard work has been kicking My butt, and sleep seems to be about all I can do right anymore Bob

Stetto.... I think an 09 would be severe over-kill! An 049 or a Thunder Tiger.07would probably give You unlimited verticle. The weight of the Pa-Nee AU, RTF WITH electric gear & battery isgoing to hit 9.5-12oz, depending on motor/flight pack size. an 049 with 4 micro servos, a 275ma batt pack, and 1-2 oz tank would be about 11-12 oz TOPS! Being a fossle-fuel dinosaur myself, I designed another electric oplane, and made all the "classic" mistakes before the Pa-Nee, called the Pseudo Pa... which was designed just to look like a Piper"something. I didn't weigh My wood,.. used LOTS of too big & heavy basswood, ply, & spruce in it. It tipped the scales at a whopping 10 oz on the money,.. and even with a much shorter span wing with only a 4" chord, it STILL flew with a tiny IPS geared power system!(be it greatly underpowered) Here's the link to that one... It was a test-bed of sorts for the Pa-Nee... I learned a LOT from building this one! Bob www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236459
