My stubbornly stalwart 3 year old woke up this morning, looked out at 2 inches of fresh snow and said...well you know what he said, "Fly Airplanes Daddy". I placated him long enough to get him and his sister fed and sent them off with mommy to church. This allowed the sun to come out and by noon the snow was melted off. As soon as lunch was over, he was at it again. So around 2:00 we packed up the truck and headed for the airport.
The temperature was dropping again and there were a few fat wet flakes coming down from broken cloud cover, but there was no wind, so we gave it a whirl.
We made a half a dozen take off's and landings and burned two tanks of fuel. The last flight we throttled back to about one third, trimmed for slow lazy circles. We sat up on the hood of the truck, leaning against the windshield, and watched the plane dodge the snowflakes as it passed in and out of the patches of blue and gray sky.
We landed after about 15 minutes, with my hands getting colder and the snow falling more heavily, just enough accumulated that we left tracks on the runway.
Great fun...I'd forgotten.

I envy you Chris. I remember what its like to enjoy these crisp winter like mornings, I do that about every end of June or so when we hit triple digits. Right now though I am just worn out from slogging through the winter wonder.

Sounds like you guys go slammed. We ended up with just a few inches here, but there were 102 inches on the pass. Back in school this week so no flying, but we I prefabbed all the spar webs and framed up one wing panel on the Cub this evening.

Yeah we are making up for all the nice weather we had until Xmas I guess. Glad someone is at least getting out.
