Trying to find Solartex - The Company. No website available.... at least my browser does not think so. Need to get some WW1 Luftstreikraft (GAF) 5 Colour Lozenge Camouflage. It is still listed as a production item but for some reason they appear to be reluctant to let customers know where they are. All help gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance

First, a factoid. Solartex is also known as Colortex and Worldtex. They are all the exact same thing and the names depend on who is distributing them. I don't remember Solartex ever making a lozenge iron-on fabric (but then, sometimes I don't even remember my wife's name - luckily, she answers to "Hey, you!). The company that did make it many years ago was Coverite. They made it in two scales. For some reason, they stopped making it about 15 or 20 years ago. On very rare occasions, you will see a roll pop up on E-bay. They have been selling for about $60 to $80 a roll. By the way, a good source for Solartex in regular colors is www.balsausa.com/coverings/?shopperid=There are two outfits that do sell German lozenge covering currently. The first is: www.gtmodels.com/Glenn Torrance sells lozenge fabric for his 1/4 scale Fokker kits. It is not an iron-on. You put it on and shrink it with dope. The second outfit is: www.arizonamodels.com/Arizona Models sells German lozenge fabric as an iron-on in three different color schemes and in many different scales. It is sold by the foot. By the way Kevin, what are you building for this type of covering? I hope this helped. Bob

Building a 1/4 Scale Fokker Dridecker from Balsa USA.
Thanks for the information.... it now occurs to me to start looking for a pair of Spandaus and a couple of 6 5/8" Wheels too.

If you go quick to the Tower Hobbies website, most of the Williams Bros. stuff is "Temporarily Unavailable". However, the wheels and machine guns you need are marked as "due in late Dec". Maybe that is the last of it. Better jump on it while you can.
