I am stripping the paper from the Barnstormers wing. Whoever built this thing was an expert builder. One strange thing, the paper at the tips is not ordinary silkspan. It is some sort of brown paper. This is something I have never seen done before. The wing is typical Berkley construction with no planking at the center section. It has 2 false fibs glued to the fuselage for someplace to glue the silkspan.

Phil, the barnstormer was made by guillows not berkley.

I believe you're right. However this construction is typical of Berkley.
