If I need kite materials that I can't find at the hardware or drugstore, I go to www.intothewind.com/They are a great supplier. They ship fast. They have reasonable prices. I've purchased several Hata Fighting Kites from them. We don't actually do combat with them yet. With a tail, they are extremely stable, light air kites. Shorten the tail and in a fresh breeze or stronger, they become a real handful to fly. My two year old is getting lots of practice holding on to the flying handle of his kite. I figure this is good practice to get him ready for Control Line flying in a few years.

I live 15 miles from Into The Wind and have purchased a stunt kite and other products including carbon rods that I use for pushrods. I can't say how there mail order survice might be, but the people who work there and their products are of high quality. Jerry Bohn

Bob Mears had a batch of Combat Kites made right before the Nats. Special order, mostly people on the Combat-L mailing list got them.
The closest equivalent is the Spectrum Micron, and it's not nearly as maneuverable as the Lubbock kite, from what I've heard.
