Haven't done this in a while, so: "Hey Dave, don't stand too close to the front of that thing!" The world's first single engine ETOPS certified aircraft departs on it's maiden flight....

Huge inlet, no exhaust, two cockpits. An airplane that really sucks but... where does the air go?
(It should actually have been an Airbus to suck this much.)
And there is also the issue of how to fly an airplane with two complete cockpits and, one surmises, two complete captains?
Do they vote on all maneuvers and procedures prior to executing them?
Excellent air conditioning I'll bet.
(Any of you photoshop wonkies want to try the same treatment on a P-38, i.e., one engine, two cockpit pods? THAT I'd like to see.)

I believe this was another of Uncle Sancho's aeronautical inventions, originally intended to clear Mama Yolie's kitchen of smoke after a particularly bad batch of fuel.....
The original prototype flew with dual cockpits. The senior captain was supposed to fly, but many of them couldn't agree on which copilot would have to do the preflights and all the grunt work. Life as a pilot sucks when there's no flight engineers. Later models will have the cockpit on the left and a video arcade in place of the cockpit on the right If they can work out the wiring problems.
Exhaust is out the bottom of the fuselage just below the tail, and a vectored thrust version is under development to allow operation from unimproved fields....
Viewing the "Don't Get Sucked In" video is mandatory.....
Trailing aircraft must maintain at least a twenty mile separation to avoid wake turbulence.

Sure the takeoff is short, but it only carries enough fuel to get to the other end of the runway.
