One guy posted that after getting a new pacemaker he was sitting on his front porch with a friend and every time a pretty young lady walked by his garage door would open. :-)
Do take good care of yourself.

I believe I've heard that one before somewhere. Probably on Bartons.

This new pacemaker is my fourth one. It has caused me more pain than all the others combined. It is getting better now, so I figure I will be down another 2 weeks, then I should be able to fly again (hopefully).

This Sunday will be 18 days since I got my new Pacemaker. I will most likely try to go flying, weather permitting.

Went for a followup yesterday for the pacer. The Doc picked a stray stitch from the wound. More pain. He gave me an antibiotic that has some scary warnings.

It's been a while since my last post. Both the hip and the pacemaker still gives me a little pain and it's still a problem getting back into my wife's Honda Civic. Everything else is manageable. Strength is down, endurance is way down. I need to push myself a little more. I don't feel like doing anything.

It is over 2 years since the hip surgery. I still cannot put on my right sock or tie my right shoe. I tried to get more physical therapy to gain more flexibility. The facility told me that medicare would not pay for it. I have to use a device to put on my right sock and right shoe. My flying partner hasn't been able to fly for several months. I am left to assume it is wife trouble. The flying was the last kind of exercise left that I could force myself to do. I haven't been able to force myself to go into the workshop to repair the damage from the crash of the Fronkensteen 4. I have about an hours work to bring a Tutor 2 to flying condition. That may never happen. My energy and stamina has fallen off to the point that I doubt I can fly any more. I am preparing to sell off most of my 80 engines If I can force myself to get out there and sort them out for sale. If I can do this, I will start another thread to update all of you about it.

Just to let you all that i'm still alive. I haven't flown since the last post. I also haven't done any work either. I have little strength, no energy, no stamina, no desire to do anything but play with the computer. The meds I am taking are keeping me alive for now. Who knows how long that will work. I have already lived longer than my father so I figure i'm ahead of the game. Only time will tell.

Hate to hear that you haven't been able to fly. When I had the injections done on my knees a couple years ago they would give me therapy exercises and what to do if I got too sore to do them. I haven't stayed with it that much but lately have been trying to force myself to limber up so I can go flying. But, last month I had a scare while visiting sister-in-law in Texas. Not supposed to go flying by my self but yet I can work around the house mowing grass and picking up trash. If you visit Stunt Hanger you will see my post there. Anyway, take care of yourself. Question: Are you responsible for the new control line site on proboards?

No, I have nothing to do with that site. If Aviojet is going to moderate it, that will be a disaster. I saw your post on your episode. You need to take better care of yourself. I'm happy you came thru it OK.

This is to let everyone know that i'm still alive. The diabetic neuropathy in my feet is to the point that if I allow the blood sugar to get too high, I get extreme pain in my left foot. I have almost decided that I need to get rid of most if not all my engines for fear of them ending up in the trash when I check out. We'll see. I wish the doctors really knew what they were doing.

Well, it does make you wonder. I gentleman I know at the local dirt track now is left with two stumps for legs, so he is confined to a wheel chair. It had been a couple of years since I had seen him. He said this was the first time he really felt like getting out and seeing who is still with us and who was still racing. I haven't used sugar or salt for years and the doc said I was border line. Now to get the hand out of the brace they have on it. Nothing like stopping a Fox 25 with the knuckles. 2 inch gash and 2 cut tendons. Learned the index finger has 2 tendons on top of hand. Was told be glad it wasn't the palm side of the hand. Still can't quite figure how I did it. Now you had better shape up and get better by running some of those old engines.

Well the brace is gone and laid up in the shop as a reminder. Have been out several time flying. The hand is still a little stiff and once in a while it stings a bit then itches. Last night was just breaking in engines I thought were broke in. Need to start cleaning and running engines instead of building so much.

I know it's been a long time since I've posted here. A lot has happened. I had to quit flying due to cardiomyopathy, but that is far from all of it. Not long ago, I developed an intestinal blockage and had to go to the hospital. They had to remove a tumor and about a foot of my colon. Talk about messing me up. After about 6 months, I am still recovering. At 72 years old, I wonder how long I have left. I guess only time will tell. I hope all of you are doing better than me.

I'ts been a long time since I've been here. The last year has been murder. I had developed an intestinal blockage. I checked into the hospital. It turned out to be a malignant tumor so they took out a foot of my colon. Talk about messing up your digestive system. After I got out of the hospital, they started me on chemo. I can no longer fly. I can barely walk. I cannot stand straight up any more. Now I am stuck with about 80 engines that will most likely go to the dump. All this is in addition to all that has happened in the world lately. Life can get rough at times.
