I'm looking for a CL 60 size plane that will take my New Evolution GAS 10. RC Engine? I would like to use a carrier type semi-scale plane. I was looking at the new Hanger 9 RC P-40B. I would convert it for CL flight, with my new gas motor. I mention the carrier type because I would like to fly it in a carrier type event. All the CL planes that I've been looking at, are to small or to large for the Evo Motor. Any ideas out there?

I'm going to go with a CL Plane that only has a throttle and not a carrier hook. I saw a CL Handle, with an RC transmitter built into it, used for throttle control. The use of the Electronic Ignition, & Battery & an RC Receiver & it's Battery & a throttle Servo, may be to much additional weight. A three line CL Handle and Bell Crank is a much lighter option.

I am building a 2.4 RC handle based on a $20 radio from Hobby King.
First use is for a .10 size plane. The flight pack is currently about 1.5 ounces, and I consider that grossly heavy. I think you can get the planes rx package down to under an ounce. It was my first try and locked myself into what I had started with. Had some problems with the electronics and when I fried the rx and replace it and added parts the weight increased. I had to add a UBEC and a bigger battery, also my throttle servo was to big and heavy (16 grams, an old servo I already had).
I am sure on the next plane I will get the weight back down to an ounce or less. A little servo that can take the vibration (gear train is the weak link) of a glow or in your case the harder vibration of a gas engine is the hard part. I looked a a 9 gram servo for throttle but I suspect the gears just are not strong enough. I am told that HITEC makes a micro servo with gears that are up to the task but I forget witch one.
Next try I will go with a single LiPo cell of about 260-300 ma, a voltage booster, and a better servo.
I flew a 3 line setup a very long time ago. The extra line drag really hurt it bad. And with the above gear a third line is as heavy or even heavier than the rx setup, as you need even more outboard tip weight. The third line adds weight, and the 3 line bell crank plus the extra tip weight to compensate the extra line weight.
A second hack to the TX will be to add a on off thumb switch for smoke to the handle (replacing the Tx steering wheel). That could be for a tail hook instead if you wanted to.
Keep posting on what you do.
I do have a build thread here and else where on the handle and the plane.
