The engine runs pretty good with the muffler installed. I'm going to try a fuel mix of 15/15/10 and see how that works. UPDATE: The mix works well, but not better enough to warrant using that much nitro. I still want to try no nitro fuel.

A 1° downthrust wedge has been installed on NoblARF #3. We'll see if it's enough next time it's flown.

The NoblARF #3 has a resonance with the Tornado Magnum 3 blade 10-4 prop. I will try a Cyclone 11-4.5 next then maybe the XOAR 11-4 0r 12-4. I believe I have both.

I have decided one thing. The NoblARF is NOT a windy weather airplane.

NoblARF #3 is doing pretty good. I hope it keeps that up.

I flew this thing again today. Today it felt a little clumsy. It must be me.

You did rebalance the airplane I hope. The 11-5 prop should do the trick. Also I hope this isn't the Brodak engine you had so much trouble with.

The Brodak 40 has been pretty much cured by the replacement case supplied by Brodak. The design is radically different than the original case. I suppose the model could use a little more tail weight.

I put up 2 more flights on this thing today. I used Sig R/C fuel, 5% nitro, 20% oil-50/50 castor/klotz. Slightly less oil than specified by Brodak. It ran like a sewing machine. It used about 3.75 oz for a pattern. Slightly raggedy cutoff.

Only one flight today. The engine quit early. I need to rethink my method of measuring fuel into the tank.

I got 2 more flights on this thing today. The first used 3 1/4 oz and quit early, the second used 3 1/2 oz and had extra laps. There is evidence of a fuel leak at the engine. I need to pressure test the system.

I flew this thing today in very windy conditions. I planted it inverted at the bottom of horizontal 8"s. The removable rudder came off intact, no damage. Only other damage, scuff marks on the plastic spinner. Even the canopy is intact. Prop is also undamaged. I cleaned most of the oil and sand off the model. I will try to tighten the covering on the rudder before reattaching it to the model. I also pressure checked the fuel system and checked the clunk movement. It seems to be ok.

I put 3 more flights on this thing today. It did well, but I seem to have trouble settling on a needle setting. I may also take the CG back a touch more.

I put up 3 more flights on this thing today, On the second flight, It got light on the lines and I planted it at a slight positive angle, broke a prop. I put on a Tornado wood 11-5, big difference.

The last crash left the spinner nose buried in the soggy ground. I replaced the Tornado wood 11-5 with a Top Flite wood 11-4. It should pull well. I also replaced the remains of the old spinner. I also checked the engine position in case it moved because of the crash. Lastly, I cleaned the fuel filter. It needed cleaning.

I just checked the leadouts on NoblARF #3. They are uneven too but not as bad as #2. I need to watch them both.

I changed the prop to a Vess 11-4. Not quite as good in the wingover, the rest was good.

I flew at the Wings over Miami event today. I installed a Rev Up 10-6EW prop. I ended up crashing it with a classic "last flight of the day" bit. So much for the EW prop. I knocked the nose off.

The nose having come off gave me a view of the bellcrank. The entire control system is off. I need to rework the entire control system. Never use ANY of the control system on a NoblARF. I have learned a hard lesson.
