Some of the truly outstanding Canadian combat pilots are proposing a new class -- something called "WWI Gentlemanly Combat", wherein the "combatants" take turns slowly droning around the sky, alternately acting as targets and aggressors. The targets are supposed to permit the aggressors to approach their ribbons closely before taking defensive action. ???There was even a suggestion that this format would eliminate the need to ban monoplanes. Apparently, despite being plentifull during WWI, monoplanes are excessively aggressive & capable . This format is supposed to encourage young Canadian model pilots to join the ranks of "combat" fliers. Somehow, dancing around the sky like fairies (no nasty trolls allowed), doesn't seem like combat. I guess this kind of thinking is an example of why Canada is now widely renowned as the home of galloping mediocrity. Too bad. I was a Canadian fighter pilot & I was trained to kill as many bad guys as I could -- 'cause they were bad guys & they would kill me &/or my kids. Where has my country gone?

I'm still trying to digest this new arrival of stupidity. I am officially on holidays right now, and therefore cannot allow myself to comment at this moment as to how stupid this really is, nor will I comment that I think MAAC has commited a grave error in allowing certain people/politicians (liars) to be not only in committees but in the executive itself. Thank you past president Wayne for all the hard work you did/accomplished even with these idiots constantly trying to undermine your well respected and deserved leadership.

Hi Keith -- I guess that I can become a Canadian WWI Gentleman's Combat Ace with my eyes closed -- no need for hi-tech killer machines -- just my dancing slippers & parasol. I bet you Yanks are trembling in your shoes (bells or otherwise) at the prospect of a new generation of Killer Canuck Combat Pilots comming at you after their apprenticeship in this most-deadly combat arena.

Lightning ol' buddy, I have found my niche -- Fairy combat. Myself & another old fart have been havin' at it for the past three days now -- no holds barred trainer combat . We are both flying hot rod trainers with good .46s in them. So far my Hobbico SuperduperSuperstar with a TT Pro, has an edge on his Blackhorse ExcellentExcell 2000 with an FX. I have five kills to his four -- it is damned hard to hit these ribbons, despite the fact that we aren't getting more than 75 mph out of these birds. We had a midair today -- my fin sliced a covering pannel out of his outer wing (we didn't land, as we weren't really sure if we had kissed). I suppose that we are disqualified. This was the qualifying round for the Gentleman's WWI Fairy Combat in those dangerous 50 mph biplanes. We finished off the day today with a "team" combat session by joining forces and killing a hapless SPAD Debonair (OS .46 FX) -- he didn't have a prayer, & the finale was a side-by-side inverted victory pass down the runway with simultaneous rolls over the remains of the SPAD -- it augered in trying to escape. Bring on the Gentlemen Fairy Dancers ;D We are Canadian -- eh?

With C/L combat, it's easier to line up on the streamer. And with collisions, It usually rains balsa bits.
