Unfortunately they managed to crash it already. Luckily nobody hurt but the airframe sure got torn up. No doubt fixable with enough money, especially considering what they start off with on some restorations. The supply of useable DB-605's has to be pretty limited though. www.nonstopnews.borgmeier-media.de/meldung.php?ID=2470&JG=0&sst=2470

In Case you were wondering what the text of the crash was....
Ain't German translation fun?
here's what it said literally...(no wonder they lost the war).

As the hobby pilot to the landing on the airport Degerfeld (Zollern-Alb-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg) prepared, presumed itself he yet in security. Yet the landing failed, broke is that stern of the machine in the mounting from, that historic Messerschmidt ME 109 in split-second only a wreck. How through a miracle, the breach pilot remained was able to leave at the same time totally intact, he the machine independent. To the moment of the misfortune, intense activity, many hobby pilots ruled wetted the good flight weather on the flight terrain under free sky. Quickly they hurried the 69-year-old to the aid – and powerfully were eased that that with the frightening had come therefrom. Nevertheless large consternation ruled under the flyer friends. For that did not smash is Messerschmidt ME 109 any airplane. „That is the historic airplane simply“, explains Manfred Birk, chairperson of the local air sports club. It had concerned in the accident machine a single piece, lie might whose model at the beginning of the postwar period. „It is the super-Gau simply“, so the depressing explanation of the aviation friend that stands now before the ruins of more than 30,000 hours and/or 7 years of loving restoration working. The learned pilot returned remained on Friday of a practice flight, after the breach landing it nothing further to take than the wreck together with its flyer-friends apart, in order to rescue it. The police was with a large public notice and a helicopter on the spot in order to reconstruct the circumstances of the breach landing. The aviation federal bureau on the other hand had not turned on itself because there were to be lamented –fortunately no persons damages.
