As some of you know I have been putting a lot of effort into growing vegetables the past few years. For the past several months I have been paying close attention to the "gardener's weather forecast" at weather.com.
This site has a useful feature for RC flyers. You can get a long range (ten days) forecast for your zip code, or the zip code where your flying site is located that includes wind speed.
Go to weather.com and follow the links to "garden weather forecast", input your desired zip code, and voila! If family obligations are making it harder and harder to schedule a day at the flying field, it is nice to be able to have an idea of what the wind will be like.

Y'know Chris, weather forecasting (and the myth that it can be accomplished beyond 12 hours) is a pretty touchy subject around these parts...Are you sure this thread shouldn't be in the Pond?
I just in the last three days watched the Weather Underground site change the local chance of rain no less than five times for today...In three days...And ALL of these weather gurus get their scoop of poop from the same "reliable" government entity---The NWS...

I use the weather channel (weather.com) and intellicast for forecasts and maps, last year I noticed that both, but especially weather.com blew the forecasts a lot more than the previous few years, and its seems to be the same this year, except they change the forecasts so they don't include the day you are on and the 2 days following forecast gets changed, and often radically. It almost comical. It may be coincidental or maybe the meteorologist changed who did the NOAA data interpretation for our area. Anyway, wind is not to hard to predict here since we are on the flats, if the sun comes up its probably going to blow.
