It has been a disastrous week. First, my main computer started acting up, then it died. When I updated my laptop, I wanted to install my printer and as I installed the software for the printer, the printer died. It looks like the power supply died, so I called Canon. Guess what? Cannon does not have parts for my 3 year old printer. Talk about upset! Bottom line, I need to overhaul my main computer. In the meantime, I am only one malfunction away from being offline.

I have taken the first steps to prepare for the overhaul. I can't believe the changes in technology since my last computer build. It has taken me a week to almost catch up. This is not like going to the store and buying a box and hooking it up. I still need a printer.

I got a printer. It's not cooperating. I ordered parts for the new computer build. So far so good. Long way to go.

I took my new printer back. They said, no problem, we'll give you a new one. Then they checked stock, none in stock. It will be 4 days till they get more in.

About a month ago, my main computer fried. The motherboard shorted and took out a 600W power supply. I resorted to a 7 year old HP laptop. I later discovered a memory upgrade that I bought 6 years ago and never installed. I bought new parts for a new build and later found the driver disc for the motherboard was missing. The base unit works fine but won't recognize the modem. Most parts were bought mail order, so I have a major problem. I am only one failure from being offline. The base unit is lightning fast using a M.2 socket 3 SSD hard drive card. If I had any hair left, I would be tearing it out right now.

The new computer is running. There are a few problems to be worked out. Mostly I need to restore links and lost programs. The new browsers are so different.

Again it has been a few days. Glad you are getting things working. Myself I have not done much except work around the house and going to grand kids ball games. Need to set alarm so I can get out before it gets too hot and just fly. Have several planes that need to get in the air. The other alternative is to get out about 6 PM and fly until it's too dark.

I haven't flown any since my flying partner developed domestic problems. My strength and stamina has fallen off so much that I could be finished myself. I need to begin selling off most of my engines soon.

This getting older sucks and wonder about the alternative being better. Sure have let myself get out of shape. Have a new walk behind mower and it takes me twice as long to mow front yard. Guess the big rider has spoiled me. To bad we don't live closer together. But, I can't handle the Florida humidity.

The heat here is bad enough. Combined with the humidity, it will suffocate you. I live in the A/C. It's easy to get heat stroke here if you aren't careful, especially at our ages. I love what passes for winter here.

I have been resolving one problem at a time. So far so good. I am buried in adware and tracking cookies. I had to buy adware remover to clean house. I hope it works.

No more updates, I down loaded Windows while it was free. Had a few problems, but mostly it was me. Been getting out more and forcing myself to do things. May come to a halt for a day or two as they want operate on my right ear.

I hope your surgery goes well. My ex flying partner informs me that his wife will let him fly during the week. I may take him up on that.

That sounds like an idea that I do now when Dave has day off. I use a stooge otherwise and as I told Dave when I put up a flight I relax a bit. The evening time is best as I enjoy the clouds and the birds of the area while I gear up for another flight. By the way I hope we were not too hard on you on the other forum about the gentleman and his dogs.

I understand the attachment that a person gets for his pets, but I maintain that they are not worth destroying yourself for. I stand by that. I guess that makes me a pragmatist.

I believe I am finished flying. I want to sell of about 80% of my engines. I will leave a few in case a miracle happens. If anyone knows someone that needs an engine, let me know.
