While most of the country is knee deep or more in snow, Miami is sunny, and bright. This type of cloud formation is rare here so I thought I'd show a little of it. Attachments:

Right now, we're getting the leftovers of the weather system that caused so much destruction in the Midwest. We aren't getting much rain and few tornadoes, the tornadoes we get are very weak. It's mostly heavy clouds, some light rain, and light wind. I'll see if I can get some cloud pics.

Miami weather gets strange this time of year. We have a hurricane (Danny) coming down hurricane alley (carribean), but right now it is raining and the sun is shining at the same time.

Hurricane Danny is about shot, but there are 2 more disturbances following close behind. Sooner or later something will hit us.

At least our tornados only last for a little while, not days at a time. So far daughter is glad to be in Missouri.

Now it's Erika. The forecasters think it will hit Miami. The only question is how strong will it be when it gets here.

I'll be happy to go flying any time we can agree on. I hope I can dredge up something to fly. I have no idea where your number is also.

Now it's Erika. The forecasters think it will hit Miami. The only question is how strong will it be when it gets here. The "forecast cone" started as going up the east coast, then it was a direct hit, then going up the west coast. This storm is still going due west. I really don't think the forecasters know anything. Thing is you cannot afford to take anything for granted but must prepare every time for the worst case scenario. Every June we inspect all hurricane supplies and replace whatever is necessary be it batteries, water, food, etc. I got a flat 2 days ago and had to replace 2 tires. They were 11 years old.

Erica has broken up over the islands. All that is left is a load of crappy weather. Fred has formed off the coast of Africa. When they form that far out it concerns me. Again, only time will tell.

So you lucked out on another one. Last Sunday was almost stunt heaven, temps in the 80's and hardly any breeze. Anyway hope hurricane season doesn't get too bad for you.

Mother Nature sure has a way. Week before contest had two days to get planes out. The day of the contest started out foggy. Could not see very far on the drive up, but it cleared off and was almost stunt heaven. Turn ou was better than in the past. Results are in Stunt Hanger under TOPClass II. This week it has been hot and windy. Need to get out and get the Hobo by Tom Neiber trimmed out. Hope the hurricanes don't hit you too hard. Maybe send some of the rain west and finish washing California into the ocean or put out the wild fires.

It would be nice if we could make this stuff go where they need it. We have parts of this country washing away and parts drying up and burning.

Right now things are quiet in Hurricane Alley. I wonder for how long.

We have had a couple of minor systems come and go, but so far nothing of any consequence. Time will tell about the rest of the season.

We now have category 2 hurricane Joaquin approaching the east coast. It has winds of 105 MPH and is forecast to go higher. They say it will turn north in 2 days. They have been wrong many times. It is supposed to hit the east coast between North Carolina and New York. Why is it I doubt it. With Hurricanes, you never really know where they are going till they get there. I have seen them do some really strange things. UPDATE: As promised, the winds are up to 125 MPH. Direction is still in question. Attachments:

Joaquin has begun its turn to the north as predicted. Wind speed is 130 MPH. We will most likely escape the worst of the storm.

The storm is headed north so Miami is out of the woods. It still has 130 MPH winds.

The storm is headed NorthEast with winds of 155 MPH and gusts to 190 MPH. It is away from the coast so they will get a lot of rain but little wind. It is traveling at 16 MPH. Attachments:
