It is now about a week till I go in for a total hip replacement. It could be a while till I can sit up without pain. I'm not looking forward to this, but there is no longer any choice.

I had wanted to go flying once more this Sunday, but since the surgeon wanted me off all supplements and anti-inflammatories so near the surgery, I am in no shape to fly right now.

Follow doctors orders so you will be able to do more flying later.

I managed to find a small rehab facility near the house that should do the job. That is providing the insurance cooperates.

I will be on my way to the hospital shortly. You most likely won't hear from me for a while.

Came home yesterday. Not much good for anything. Using a walker to get around. Cannot get to the garage. This could be a rough couple of months.

Man you had me worried....I didn't imagine it to take that long. Glad you're home, that's good news. You'll get past this period of re-generation, just don't get in a big hurry. Take your time, and get it right. God bless your hip, and your recovery. And whomever takes care of you, give'um a big thanks from your buddies!

Saw the doctor today. They took an X-ray. They said it looks good, it certainly doesn't feel good. I think I mostly need to give it time. It's only been 2 weeks.

I can easily negotiate The front door stairs, but the rear stairs that lead to the garage/workshop are another story. When my leg is stronger, I will try to walk around the garage to the back yard.

Today I registered for outpatient physical therapy. Now the real fun begins. Aw hail, that will be counter productive, unless it's a purty nurse. The last time I went through that it was electric shock muscle manipulation....I guess they knew I wouldn't be very co-operative, so they put a pretty young nurse on the machine......and I was the tough old vietnam veteran! I have seen the physical therapist. A little toothpick of a thing. She seems a little light duty for this type of thing. But, time will tell.

Today marks 4 weeks since the surgery. According to the surgeon, I can drive if I feel up to it. I don't. I'll see how I feel in another week. The new physical therapy left me hurting.
