I'm not too sure what it has to do with landing a Spit, except that Spit-landing appears to be a combat activity in its own right. ;D

Back to the Spit. I added a bit of washout to the Spit, as per Headshot's suggestion of flexing the wing & shrinking the covering -- it now lands at a terrifying pace, but it no longer stalls & snaps -- much easier I also added more toe-in to the landing gear & takeoffs are less squirrely, but the tires are wearing out at a startling rate.

When you have a bird that has a bad stall tendency on landing, more than likely you have way too much elevator throw. Fly at full throttle and pull a full up elevator loop. If the plane snaps or breaks out of the loop, reduce elevator throw to the point where it barley will start to break out of the straight track at the top of the loop. Now, when you do your full stall landing. there will be no snap tendency ---- Hope that fixes your problem---with the plane-- the wife, well, that's a whole different discussion! ;D
