I've begun scrounging through my stack of wrecked wings to see if any will be easy to put back together. I believe the PT 19 wing should be easily salvageable. It is separated at the glue joints at the spars, leading edge, and trailing edge. The planking is severely damaged and will most likely need to be replaced. Only one rib is damaged and should be easily repaired. I will need to find a way to reinforce the spar joints.

I have the wing tacked together and the rib repaired. I forgot about the dihederal that has to be removed from the wing. It shouldn't be a big problem.

There is no way to do a proper spar splice, so I will have to resort to a scab repair in the same manner as I did the repair on the Primary Farce. The repair I did on it survived the last crash intact, so it should work on this thing.

So far I have stripped the planking from one side of the wing and will replace it before I strip the other side.

While I am inside the wing I turned the reversed bellcrank back to the conventional direction.

I'm going to try a slightly different method of attaching the pushrod to the bellcrank. I am using a 4-40 threaded rod bent over and a nut screwed onto the end to secure it.

Is there a nylon insert in the nut? I usually put a plywood plate under the pushrod to make sure it doesn't fall out of the bellcrank. My solder joints usually give up after about ten years. In fact some of my pushrods don't have any solder on them. Make the end long enough that the ply plate has to be removed before you can take out the pushrod orunbolt the bellcrank. The nut is an all metal aircraft locknut that in the industry is called a "missile nut". It is an NAS 1291-04. It's not going anywhere.

The wing is complete and reinforced with 1/64" plywood. I have fitted the fuselage #1 to it, the one with the basswood core that weighs 13.1oz. It now most likely weighs 12.8oz considering the amount of material I cut out to fit the wing.

After damaging my Nobler I need to push ahead full speed on assembly of the PT19 and Galaxy. One thing is that these names no longer apply. Looks like I need to get creative again and put together some some new names to fit the "new" models. I will most likely make a new fuselage for the damaged Nobler, unless the damage turns out to be very minor.

Test run done. Engine is hard to start, but runs well once started. I have a Vess 11-4 prop on it. I hope the airspeed will be enough.

McCoy 35 was inadequate. I installed a ST G21 46 and test flew it. It could not take off from the takeoff strip under its own power. With a hand launch, it flew fairly well. I was going to install an LA 46, but decided to try a Fox MK 6 combat special next instead.
